Founding lead guitarist of Molly Hatchet Dave Hlubek passes away

Dave Hlubek
Bobby Ingram announced on his Facebook page tonight that they lost a much loved band member.  Here is the post.

"It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of our beloved friend and band member Dave Hlubek. Dave was one of the founding lead guitarists of Molly Hatchet. Amongst his many contributions to southern rock is "Flirtin' with Disaster." Our condolences and our prayers go out to his family during this time of loss. He will be missed but never forgotten, as the music lives on through his legacy in Molly Hatchet."

Hlubek’s death, which comes days after his 66th birthday, follows that of Banner Thomas, the band’s former bassist who died in April at the age of 63. Thomas joined Molly Hatchet in 1974 and played on the band’s first four albums.
Hlubek founded the band in Jacksonville in 1971, the same year he graduated from Forrest High School. The band is named after a legendary killer prostitute.
The band hit it big with their 1978 debut and its follow-up, “Flirtin’ With Disaster.”

Buzz-Zinga would like to offer condolences to the band, the family and the world of Southern Rock Music.
